About

Outrages Press is the passion project of Krist, a long-time resident of Sheffield, England, where he has lived for over two decades. Deeply embedded in the city’s vibrant DIY music and art scene, Krist has been actively involved in publishing, design, and writing within music, trade union, and anticapitalist movements for many years.

His journey into bookbinding began after completing a course by Keio University on traditional Japanese binding techniques. Inspired by the mindfulness, precision, and care inherent in these methods, he saw a natural connection between the Japanese ethos of intentional craftsmanship and Sheffield’s own rich heritage of skilled trades and working-class resilience.

Outrages Press was born from this fusion—aiming to create sustainable, handcrafted publications that honour both traditions. Each piece reflects a commitment to quality, sustainability, and the meditative practice of slow making.
